The Portfolio PDF Print E-mail

As most coder / designers, I have been called on to produce some websites for my community and businesses in the surrounding area. Most sites that I produce for these organizations are based on the Joomla CMS. Joomla is the best open-source tool for non-techies to administer their sites. After setup and a little instruction, most folks can run it without much input from me.

Designs / templates come mainly from Rockettheme.com which produces professional templates for the Joomla CMS. As a coder, I could produce these from scratch but the guys at RocketTheme do a great job and besides, who wants to reinvent the wheel. I use these templates as the foundation for the overall appearance then do custom graphics and CSS changes to customize the look. It's slick, good-looking, and makes the customer smile.

Here's some of my work:

ePathAcademy.com

This is my teaching site. I use it to post lessons and information for my classes. My physics class is taking over the content right now it seems because I'm totally teaching it from online sources. It's a great class.

There are some more classes included on the site. Along with Physics, I teach Journalism... which is a long story. I have taught Advanced Biology, Astronomy, and Mythology which my notes are still here.

DownSouthPro.com

DownSouthPro.com is a site for a friend of mine, Cindy Carroll, who coordinates and runs arena events, mostly barrel racing competitions. She also caters and has a special setup for weddings. I've been doing this site for about three years now.

I had a great time designing the graphics for this site. Man, the whole thing just pops.

Poplarville Schools SitePoplarvilleSchools.org

This is the school's site at which I work. My journalism class keeps it updated with news and links. It's the best school site in Mississippi bar none. Promise.

I did the layout/design as a variation on RocketTheme's Versitility template. Poplarville.com was supposed to be a community site for my class's creative juices but it turned into too much work so I now just forward it to this site.

Forrest County Center PictureForrestCountyCenter.com

I was asked to do this site after Derrick and the guys at the Forrest County Multi Purpose Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi saw Cindy's downsouthpro.com site. They liked my work and went to bat to get me the contract. They are pretty self-sufficient thanks to Dave Smith. Dave, you rock.

This was another fun job as they gave me plenty of room to create. I've been with them since March 2007.

MSMasbo.org

This is a site I did for the Mississippi Association of School Business Officials. They wanted a clean site design that was easily navigated (another dark design... what's up with that).

They mainly use the site to post reference material for their daily duties and as a respository for conference presentations.

FUMCPoplarvilleFUMC.org

Poplarville First United Methodist Church's website houses the usual church announcements, links, and even a forum for online discussions.

Interesting point here... the header graphic was designed by one of my students who happens to be Jewish. Talk about inter-faith cooperation.

Tune Creations

I've played around with music for some time. Since about 12 years old. I've played in numerous bands. I do enjoy kicking around some musical thoughts. The tune creations fall into 3 categories: Ideas, Loop-based, and Real Stuff. As always, Listen to it. Enjoy it. Use it.
